Health and Wellbeing

The health and wellbeing of colleagues within the Council is of continued importance and it is recognised that at times life in and out of work can be difficult. To help you cope with these situations we have a number of initiatives in place to support employees.

Health Champions

Health Champions are a dedicated group of colleagues from across the council brought together by their passion for helping others with their health and wellbeing. The Health Champions provide a caring, confidential listening ear where staff feel that they would benefit talking to a neutral person. Champions also challenge the stigma of mental health and increase understanding. Other Initiatives in place include a free and confidential Employee Assistance programme, and Occupational Health Service.
